Everyone living at the nurse-led care home in the market town celebrated the crowning of Britain’s new monarch, with a special garden party. Sta decorated Durban House with red, white, and blue, laid on a scrumptious bu et, and even organised for local vocalist, Caryn Curtis, to sing a variety of well-known musical numbers throughout the event. e residents, many of whom remember the Queen’s Coronation back in 1953, were all eager to mark King Caryn, who came along to provide some excellent entertainment. It was a day to remember.” Professional singer, Caryn Curtis, from Totton, has been singing at venues across the region for 12 years and was delighted to be asked to go along to the Coronation celebrations at Durban House. She said: “Everyone at Durban House were all very welcoming, and it was great to see not only residents, but all the staff joining in with the sing-along. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.” Durban House is part of Sears Healthcare, CEO Richard Adams said: “What a wonderful way to mark a special day. At Durban House, we are a nurse-led care home, so our approach focuses on providing a home-from-home for our residents while we meet their healthcare needs.
