Jodi Longyear is set to launch his second guidebook, New Forest 222+, at a special launch event on 1st July. Jodi’s rst book, New Forest 222, was a guidebook with a di erence, dividing the New Forest National Park into 222 individual square miles. e book covers the fascinating history, geology, ora, fauna of the New Forest National Park, as well as helpful mentions of pubs with good food and ale along the way and grid references to help you nd your destination! Finding himself frustrated by the New Forest boundaries, which arbitrarily cut out some amazing sights just outside them, Jodi decided to write his second book covering parts of the area around the New Forest. New Forest 222+ is entirely new and is based on the same format as New Forest 222, coastline, enchanting woodlands and an abundance of ora and fauna. e area surrounding it is full of military history, delightful villages and towns, and the world’s best chalk streams. Jodi’s new book explores the highlights of all these areas. e o cial book launch will take place at Sunny elds Farm in Marchwood on 1st July from noon onwards with a chance to meet and talk to Jodi. Followed by a post-launch party at e Anchor Inn, in Eling from 7pm featuring music from Jester’s Dead. For those who can’t wait until July, e Herald have pre-launch copies available, priced at £9.95 as well as the original New Forest 222 book.
