Est., Hythe 023 8084 0163 TOMMY TROTTER TROPHY On Tuesday 23rd May despite a dozen New Forest Golf Club Seniors members being away on the annual Isle of Wight Tour, a very respectable eld of 34 turned out for this stableford competition o the white tees. ird place scores were very close in both divisions with four in division 1 and two in division 2 all scoring 34 points. However the battle for the trophy was never in doubt, Division 1’s Steve Lupton annihilating all opposition with a round that had 9 pars for a total of 41 points. In Division 2, Ted Groves scored a very respectable 39 points well ahead of the rest of the eld. Division 1: 1st Steve Lupton 41 points, 2nd Steve Duckett 36 points, 3rd Pete Ayers 34 points (back 9=19) (Also on 34 pts: Chris Hughes (b9=18), Laurie Burn (b9=17) and Chris Bennett (b9=17)). Division 2: 1st Ted Groves 39 points, 2nd Charlie Tabor 35 points, 3rd Pete Bennett 34 points (back 9=19) (Mike Wharton also scored 34 pts but only 15 on the back 9). Steve Lupton with the Tommy Trotter Trophy Fantastic Ferraris to Feature at Beaulieu Supercar Weekend - 5th & 6th August A glorious selection of Ferraris will be taking pride of place on the lawns of Beaulieu’s Palace House, as part of the stunning Beaulieu Supercar Weekend on 5th and 6th August, which will gather hundreds of jaw-dropping supercars* at the home of the National Motor Museum for a packed weekend show. Bringing together 25 Ferraris, dating from throughout the Italian marque’s illustrious history, the special Forza Ferrari display will be an unmissable highlight of the two-day show for 2023, including such iconic models as the Enzo, LaFerrari, F50, F40, 599 GTO, 250 GTE and Daytona Spider. Expect to see plenty of Ferrari Rosso paintwork gleaming in the sun, amongst other eye-catching colours. If you love Italian drivers’ cars, you can’t miss this feature of the show. e jaw-dropping displays don’t end there. Families and supercar enthusiasts alike will adore a display marking 60 years of McLaren. With the line-up of McLaren supercars on show set to include examples of the Artura and Senna, amongst other crowdpleasing models, this special area of the showground is sure to be a huge hit. Brand new for 2023 and for the rst time ever, the private lawns of Palace House will also be opened up to the event visitors, as they play host to a special display showcasing a selection of hypercars – more details to be announced soon. Always a must-see favourite with showgoers, the demonstration runs will be back and on top form, as prized supercars are put through their paces as drivers test their acceleration and braking. e sights and sounds of these amazing machines in action will be an unforgettable part of the show, so take your place alongside Beaulieu’s Chestnut Avenue and enjoy the action. In the a ernoon, crowds will gather to experience the supercar sound-o , as a selection of cars show o the sounds of their powerful engines on Beaulieu’s events arena. Whichever motor rouses the loudest cheer from spectators will receive a celebratory trophy. Clubs are always a huge part of the show, with members driving their supercars into the Beaulieu parkland to park up, catch up and admire each other’s cars. While show favourites the Sporting Bears Motor Club will be taking their places in the showground, raising money for children’s charity Simon Says by ra ing o rides in a select number of supercars.
