Bidding was lively and members had been generous with a wide range of items donated. e largest and heaviest item was a portable generator which attracted some strong bids. e event was well attended and enjoyed by all members. In the photo is one of the smaller items which was purchased by an ex member of sta of Testwood Motors Ltd as a reminder of his days selling camper vans to happy customers. Testwood Motors was the local those enthusiasts who appreciate them but don’t have one of their own, to come and meet the club members with a view to joining. Members have a range of classic vehicles such as Bedford, Ford, Land Rover, Mercedes, M.G., Morris, Riley, Saab, Triumph and Volkswagen enabling the club to expand the membership. e June meeting was on ursday 8th June. The next meeting is on Thursday 13th July. Meetings take place on the second Thursday of each month, starting at 7.30pm, at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands Road, SO40 7GH. Do go along and meet them. You will receive a warm welcome. The club holds regular quizzes, has speakers on various topics and club drive days. e club is always happy to welcome new members that are owners of any make of classic car, not forgetting Member’s Morris Minor Van Camper Van replica sweet tin Volkswagen and Audi dealership in Totton. On ursday 25th May, the club held a club rally and picnic at the Deer Sanctuary at Bolderwood. ere was plenty of car parking, the weather was good and it was an opportunity to chat in a relaxed setting for those who were able to attend. The Southampton and New Forest Group of the Austin A30/A35 Owners’ Club members are continuing to enjoy the friendly, social atmosphere at their monthly meetings. Every meeting includes a ra e with many members leaving with a prize or two. Bramshott Hill Seniors at Portsmouth On Friday 26th May ten Bramshott Hill Seniors made their way to Portsmouth Golf Club. e weather was glorious with light winds and bright sunshine. is match was arranged as an extra a er their earlier game this year at Portsmouth was reduced to fourteen holes due to poor weather. A great and friendly atmosphere prevailed at the club and they weremade very welcome. Portsmouth golf course sits on top of Portsdown hill with wonderful views across Portsmouth harbour. e unusual feature of the course is that there are very few level fairways. Most of the fairways either slope to the right or le , this means that the position of the tee shot on the fairway is very important to enable the player to have a decent second shot. With all of these di culties Mike Wells (Bramshott Seniors Captain) is proud to announce that Bramshott Seniors won the match three games to two.
