Est., Hythe 023 8084 0163 CLASSIC CAR CLUB - ‘RARING TO GO!’ Austin A30/A35 Owners’ Club, Southampton and New Forest Group - Club News Looking back to the March visit to Goodwood Motor Circuit, members are still talking about the amazing opportunity they had to drive their classic cars on the famous race track. It was the main event for the celebration of the club’s 25th Anniversary. e dry, sunny day produced smiles all round. e members were led out to take their places on the grid by the event arranger in his Frogeye Sprint. ere was a collection at the event and a total of £180 was raised for the Dementia Charity that Goodwood supports. On ursday 11th April, it was a well attended meeting which included a talk on King Alfred Buses. e club welcomed two new members, thank you to The Herald. On ursday 9th May, the club will be holding its annual charity auction. e chosen recipient this year is Street Angels who help the homeless in Southampton. e auction o en attracts some very interesting donated items for sale. e club is always happy to welcome new members that are owners of any make of classic car, not forgetting those enthusiasts who appreciate them but don’t have one of their own, to come and meet the club members with a view to joining. Members have a range of classic vehicles enabling the club to include all enthusiasts. ey continue to enjoy the friendly, social atmosphere at the monthly meetings as well as the monthly cafe meet ups. Every evening meeting includes a ra e with many members leaving with a prize or two. e club holds many events throughout the year with speakers on various topics, picnics, quizzes, car meets, club drive days and an annual charity auction. Why not drop in for a taster visit, a tea or coffee and share any of you classic car experiences with members? You will receive a warm welcome. Meetings take place on the second Thursday of each month, starting at 7.30pm, at Netley Marsh Community Hall, Woodlands Rd, SO40 7GE. Do go along and meet them.
