Dawn Harris, Unit Manager for both centres said : “It is lovely having so many visitors here today celebrating our 50th anniversary. “ e service users and their visitors were having a lovely a ernoon with plenty of cream teas and sandwiches available. e a ernoon raised over £400. Karen Blaydon – Senior Admin Assistant did a wonderful job with the food and traditional pots of tea and there was also a spectacular 50th Anniversary cake made for the event. Karen said: It was a lovely afternoon and everyone enjoyed themselves. We are really pleased with the money we raised and thank everyone for coming along to join us.” Here’s to another 50 years to this wonderful asset within our community. Continued from front Home-Start Hampshire supporting families in the New Forest is looking for volunteers with parenting experience to give one to one support to families with young children across the New Forest. ey are receiving referrals for support regularly and are desperate to expand their small band of volunteers. Their families need support for many reasons, health, mental health, disability, isolation, multiple births etc and really appreciate the support of a friendly visitor each week. Volunteers need some parenting experience, and an understanding and non- judgemental manner, commitment, energy and very importantly a sense of humour. ey ask for a weekly commitment of 2/3 hours a er the 6-week preparation course (9.30am until 2.30pm on ursdays). All volunteers will be required to have a DBS check done and will need to provide two references. e Volunteer Course starts on Thursday 26th September , from 9.30am until 2.30pm in Lyndhurst. It’s really rewarding work seeing what a di erence you can make in a family’s life.
