Hythe Pier Heritage Association (HPHA) in conjunction with volunteers from e Shed (at the Pier) and Blue Funnel engineers have transformed both and is at present working on carriage 1, with the hope of having it ready for the centenary celebration of the Hythe Pier Railway in July 1922. ere is considerably more repair work than was needed on carriage 4 which will accordingly take longer and of course requires greater funding. Donations can be made via the HPHA website: www.hythepierha.org.uk PIER LOCO AND CARRIAGE LOOKING RESPLENDENT Back on the tracks where they belong, the beautifully restored Locomotive and Carriage (photo: Gary Woletz) Hampshire County Council Thank the Community who have played their part by staying at home, getting tested and vaccinated, self-isolating, wearing face coverings and much more, to whom I would like to extend my sincere thanks. Hampshire County Council’s Leader, Councillor Keith Mans, has thanked local residents for everything they have done over the past year and more, and for the personal sacrifices made to keep each other and their communities safe.
