As well as the procession the Carnival committee laid on a Fete during the a ernoon with space for stall holders, the incredible Underdogs playing live to entertain the crowds and partnered with Charles Cole Family Funfair to provide entertainment for everyone. Families gathered from all local areas and one lady travelled from Australia to see the event! Forest Park School won 1st place for their Little Mermaid themed oat, Oak eld School’s Robin Hood oat was awarded 2nd place and e Girl Guides Totton came 3rd with their Peter Pan procession. e Carnival committee have been working extremely hard in the background to make this event a reality. Committee Chair Tanya Harder comments: “I am so proud of my committee team who have worked so hard the past 6 months in all we have done to be able to bring back a much loved community event. The community made it on the day with their screams, claps and cheers. If that’s not community spirit, then what is?. We couldn’t do it without our sponsors and local businesses but also the participants and marshals. Massive thank you to Councillor Neville Penman on Carnival Princess, Ruby Huckle Eling Carnival Committee and Carnival Princess Ruby Huckle. e Carnival Committee would also like to express their thanks to AJ Dean Transport, William Shipping and Richard Maidment Transport for their lorries, Hurst Auto Recovery and Ferris Fencing and Gates for their atbeds.
