Well what an achievement! The 24 hour Pilatesathon organised by Louisa Daniels and her team took place last month on the 10th -11th June at her Studio ‘Pilates Studio New Forest’ on Hythe Marina to raise much needed funds for Chance for Charlie. e 24 hours was split into 2 hour sessions with Louisa running all the sessions across the full 24 hours along with the help of friends Donna Osman and Vanessa Adamson who stayed up for the duration. Each session had its own musical theme through the eras which saw the three ladies dress up along with many who took part.  e themes included Awesome 80’s, 60’s Summer of Love, School Disco, Boy band, Girl Power and Disco Fever.  is certainly helped keep everyone’s spirits high especially in the early hours. Various pictures and live videos were shared on social media throughout the 24 hours which really helped push the Just Giving Page. e staggering amount raised was an incredible £8420 thanks to everyone who booked a session (some booked multiple) everyone that donated online or in person and sponsors including WHSmith Local in Dibden Purlieu, Oyster Financial Planning in Hythe, Anthony James Properties also in Dibden Purlieu and Tarot Spirits. Also a shout out to all the kind people who took time to pop by with various treats to keep the ladies going. All the money raised at the event will go to Chance for Charlie to help Charlie’s family to purchase an all-terrain wheelchair. Charlie has recently turned 13 and has a progressive muscle wasting condition called Duchenne muscular dystrophy. is vicious condition meant that Charlie lost the ability to walk in March 2020. Charlie’s family want him to be able to join them on dog walks in the forest and be able to enjoy the beach, unfortunately his current wheelchair isn’t able to deal with the terrain. As the 24 hours came to an end, Charlie and his family along with many others who had taken part in some of the sessions were there to celebrate the huge achievement and thank Louisa in person. Combined with money that Charlie’s family had previously raised, the total from this event and an anonymous donation, Charlie’s Wheelchair has now been ordered!
