Opening speeches were received from Dr Julian Lewis MP and Hampshire County Councillor Alexis McEvoy followed by live music from Nicole Jade, Jus’ Jammin and The Mellowtones with a wide range of local stalls, military displays, fairground rides, bouncy castles, and a petting farm to keep both children and adults amused. New attractions to the show this year saw the Historic Army Aircra Flight ying in a Scout AH Mk1 and War and Peace Displays brought a full-size replica SE5a, the incredible ghter plane displays by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Chairman of FPC Cllr Alan Alvey said “It was great to see the community come together again and celebrate such a special day. This free to enter family event is funded through a range of grants and sponsorship as well as income from trade stands, with any shortfall being met from the Parish Council funds so special thanks go to; the Ministry of Defence, County Councillor Alexis McEvoy and ExxonMobil for supporting the event. I would like to thank all the staff in particular Kathryn Ashdown our Events Manager for their hard work in organising and putting on such a wonderful event. The Big Give brings charities, philanthropists and the public together to multiply their impact. Money donated to the Honeypot Charity via the Big Give campaign between the 14th June - 21st June was matched by e Childhood Trust and Ineos Lyndhurst O ce. e charity are deeply grateful to anyone who donated to their Big Give campaign, all the money raised will go towards the Wellbeing Fund which provides access to essential life items for disadvantaged young carers. is may be anything from new school clothes, books to ballet shoes, the campaign has raised enough money to give 400 young carers the essential items that they need.
