Short tours of the Ferry Company workshop will be available, booking on the day. ere will be a welcome desk, tombola stall, cartooning with Simon Chadwick of Ceratopia Books, a key box game, a book stall for Alan Titheridge’s ‘Hythe’s Hotspurs’, ‘Heartbeat of Hythe’ and other titles, a PopUp café, Waterside Heritage display stand, Gerald’s Heritage Trail for children, and seaside cartoon boards. e static displays will include the ship’s wheel and bell from Hotspur III, a heritage bus, an army lorry, Exbury Railway model trains and displays from other railway societies. e Shed (at the Pier) will display an impressive collection of Hythe Pier and Ferry heritage items as well as being on hand to talk about its restoration work on the railway locomotives and carriages. Entertainment will be on hand, including a ukulele band. There will be free train rides. Further additions to the programme will be added and subsequently announced. So, put Saturday 16th September into your diaries and go along for an educational and fun day, raising funds towards the restoration of Hythe’s historic Victorian pier and iconic railway.
