That’s what drives me on. I wish to thank John and all of Highcliffe on Sea Rotary Club for nominating and presenting me with the ‘Service Recognition Award’ and the prestigious ‘Paul Harris Fellow Award’. It is very humbling to receive such awards, especially as I understand that it is unusual for someone outside of Rotary to receive a Paul Harris Fellow Award; so that makes it even more special. I must say, it means even more to me that it is from Highcliffe on Sea Rotary Club, who have so generously supported Honeypot this year with their time and commitment to give to others.” During the presentation event, Highcli e on Sea Rotary club presented e Honeypot Children’s Charity with a cheque for £5,000 a er a year of fundraising, including running a Jazz Night where Bernie Farrenden entertained guests. ese funds will enable Honeypot to provide: Respite Breaks for anxious young carers to have a stress busting break at Honeypot House; Social and Emotional Active Learning educational boosters, to help underachieving children succeed in school; Wellbeing Grants to support some of the most disadvantaged children in the UK, to receive essential life items no child should lack; A er School and Weekend Clubs online and Memory Making Days Out for lonely and isolated young carers and Pastoral Care, for overwhelmed young carers struggling to cope.
