Greenbuttercup Dementia Services in Romsey Greenbuttercup Dementia Services in Romsey run monthly ‘Arts & Cra s’, ‘Reminiscence Activities’ and ‘Singing’ activities. All activities take place in the Green Room at the Plaza eatre in Romsey, SO51 8JA, on a Friday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Anyone with Dementia is welcome to go along with their relative/carer. On the first Friday of the month, they hold a fun ‘Arts & Cra s’ group. ere is a di erent activity each time and no experience is necessary. ey do not charge for the rst session, so you can go along and see if you’d like to join them. On the third Friday of the month, they run a ‘Reminiscence Activity’ group which can be a talk, games etc. Again, there is a di erent subject each time, the next session is on Friday 17th November for an interactive session with the Army Flying Museum. On the fourth Friday of the month, is ‘Singing with Traci’, this is a fun ‘sing-along’ rather than a choir, and participants are free to join in as much or as little as they wish and songs are mainly from the 60’s and 70’s. e next session is on Friday 24th November. All sessions cost £3 per person attending and this covers any materials, instruction etc. necessary and tea/co ee with biscuits. All helpers are Dementia Friends and there is always a First Aid-trained person available. Although not legally required, as we near winter again, volunteers will all take a COVID test before they attend and participants will have their temperature taken on arrival. Places are popular and need to be booked in advance. Activities are planned throughout the year. eir next meeting is on Wednesday 6th December for their Christmas Party with a choir. Refreshments are available, kindly donated by Tesco. They offer Toenail cutting for £20 or Toe & Fingernails for £25. e registered Podiatrists and Chiropodists are also able to give foot care advice and information on other treatments available. Waterside Good Neighbours volunteers can help with transport if required. Braish eld Ukulele Music Society (BUMS) are hosting sing along sessions for those with dementia on Monday 20th November and Monday 18th December, 2.30pm to 4pm, in All Saint’s Church Room, Braish eld, Romsey, SO51 0QH.
