SLEEPING BEAUTY e Hythe & District Voluntary Car Group is a voluntary service that was set up many years ago to help support people living in Hythe and surrounding areas who experience di culty attending visits to the hospitals and medical appointments. e service is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who wish to help their community. However now many of the Committee are now reluctantly having to step back, and they would like to welcome any new members to join their happy team. Many people have been able to attend their appointments due to the organisational skills and kindness of their committee and volunteer drivers. Over the years the service has taken thousands of local residents to and from hospitals and dental appointments at a reasonable cost. eir dedicated drivers give up their time and use their own cars to provide this transport. e journeys are covered by their group insurance and they receive a mileage allowance for the journeys made. To enable the service to continue they would welcome community minded people who have some spare time to volunteer to join them either with admin tasks or driving. If you would like to discuss what this would entail, and hear about their friendly group please call Iris Read on: 023 8084 2809. CAN YOU HELP? HYTHE & DISTRICT VOLUNTARY CAR GROUP
