BIBLE CLUB Soup & Sweet at Trinity Church, Hazel Farm Road, Totton, SO40 8WU takes place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 12.30pm to 2pm. For £4 per person you can have soup with a bread roll followed by a sweet and a tea or co ee. Very good value in congenial company – they hope to see you there! Soup & Sweet Go along to Black eld Baptist Church ( e Heart of the Village) on Sunday 28th January, 4th, 11th and 18th February from 10.30am for their regular services. Everyone is welcome to join them at Hampton Lane, Black eld for their services. Sunday Services Thank You to Our Angel Knitters! St John’s Church in Hythe would like to thank everyone who picked up a pattern and spent time knitting and crocheting angels for them last year. 900 angels were lovingly cra ed and donated to the church for them to hand out in the local area, along with an invitation to their Christmas services. Sue Blomley (the Angel Lady) comments: “Our Angels are gifts and I hope they blessed each person who received one and all those who made them, it wouldn’t be possible without your help so thank you, thank you, thank you all!” It has been wonderful to see so many dads and male carers enjoying our Who Let the Dads Out sessions at St John’s Hall. e next date is Saturday 3rd February, 10am-12noon. As well as toys and a Wii console for everyone to enjoy playing with, there are also Saturday newspapers and bacon butties. If you’re a dad, grandad or male carer, do come along and join in the fun. On Sunday 11th February we have a special Celebration of Love service at St John’s Church at 11am. Everyone is welcome to join us and there will be an opportunity for couples to renew their vows as part of the service. During half term, on Tuesday 13th February we will see the return of our annual Pancake Party in St John’s Church from 4pm-6pm. is is always a great occasion with lots of fun and, of course, plenty of pancakes. It is a free event but donations are welcome to cover the cost of the pancakes and toppings. News and Events from the Parish of Hythe MUSIC MAKING AND SHARING Music Making and Sharing takes place on the 3rd Saturday of the month (17th February and 16th March) from 2pm to 5pm at Calmore Village Hall, Pauletts Lane, Calmore SO40 2RS. e cost is just £5 payable at the door. e group welcome and encourage musicians to go along to share their musical skills and are open to listening to other peoples’ musical enthusiasm – with the instrument of their choice and the genre they like. If you compose your own music, they would love to hear it. Or perhaps you would like a space for presenting/trying out pieces you are going to perform elsewhere, including a music exam. You need to take along your instrument, music and equipment including a music stand if you require one. ere is a piano. If you are a singer and require accompanying, please take your accompanist along. Anybody who would like to play/sing a couple of pieces to non-judgemental fellow musicians is welcome. All levels of ability are welcome (professionals to beginners). e meetings start with a brief musical warm-up and then they take turns in playing and listening to each other. e space is open for experimentation, risk taking, and appreciation. ey welcome adults, young people from age 16, and supervised children.
