To celebrate her milestone birthday, Hazel was joined by her family and friends for a gathering complete with a delicious cake and decorative balloons. To top off Hazel’s birthday celebrations, she also received a card from HRH King Charles III. When asked her advice for a long and happy life, Hazel commented: “I wouldn’t be so cheeky as to think people should follow my advice, but one thing would be to always spend time with your loved ones.” Natasha Randall, Deputy Manager at Northlands House, commented: “We are delighted to have spent Hazel’s special day with her. She is a truly wonderful lady who is a joy to be around. Celebrating our resident’s achievements is incredibly important to us at Northlands House, it boosts the well-being of all our residents.” Hazel has three children: Heather and twin boys, James and Tony. She was married for 15 years to the father of her children, Jim, before he sadly passed away. She then met Clifford who she was married to for 30 years. During her youth, Hazel had a busy working background which involved plenty of travel. She worked for the Scouts at the London association. She went on to work as a personal assistant to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Southampton and later volunteered at Oxfam in Portswood. Now in her retirement, Hazel continues to enjoy the theatre and watching TV with fellow residents at Northlands House - especially tennis. She also collects used stamps which she donates to Southampton General Hospital. Northlands House Bupa Care Home is situated in Southampton and welcomes residents in need of nursing or residential care.
