JON’S BIKE REPAIR & SALES Unit 19, Glenmore Business Park, Hardley Industrial Estate, Lime Kiln Lane, Holbury SO45 2AR 023 8089 0712 EST: 2016 Fawley first team won their first match of the new year against Andover with a final score of 40-33. They followed this up with another win against Gosport and Fareham the following week with a score of 34-14. The U16’s having won Monday 15th January and the day dawned bright and cold but most importantly dry. The weather had been dry for quite a few days and the golf was eagerly anticipated. The ‘MyTime’ website was checked and low and behold, for the first time in many weeks, all eighteen holes were open and trolleys were allowed. Bramshott Seniors set out for a ‘proper’ game of golf. Thirty-five brave souls took on the bitterly cold conditions to test their mettle against the full course. After eighteen testing holes some very cold but proud Senior Players completed the course. Some players had retained their skills over the partial closure period and their scores reflected this. Others were not so lucky and a lot of effort to regain their skills is now in progress. The results were as follows: Division 1: 1st Brian Lewis 39, 2nd Kevin Boot 36, 3rd Gerard Murphy 33; Division 2: 1st John Bailey 37, 2nd Paul Baker 35, 3rd Ray Dunkason 35. Monday 22nd January and the weather had struck again. Heavy raid overnight had reduced the Dibden Golf Course to only nine holes on the eighteenhole course with no trolleys or Buggies allowed (carry bags only). Due to the poor conditions the turn out of players was reduced to only twenty-seven players prepared to play. Despite the conditions some reasonable golf was achieved, as the scores below will confirm. Division 1: 1st Dave Wilson 22, 2nd Kevin Rothwell 20, 3rd Brian Lewis 20; Division 2: 1st Paul Baker 22, 2nd Michael Webb 21, 3rd Henry Porter 20.
