As always, everybody will be warmly welcomed for the fee of £5. A local artist and tutor, John will show the artists how they can always enhance their art by listening to the good points and the opportunities for improvement. Even those who do not take paintings along to be reviewed by John will nd that there is a lot to learn from his positive comments about certain aspects of a painting as well as from his gentle hints of how a painting could be improved. erefore this learning evening will be as applicable to visitors as it will be to members. It will even be of interest and entertaining to non-painters! e review will no doubt give a avour of the paintings that members will be entering in the group’s summer exhibition in the Centre in August. A painting that may be reviewed by John Edwards Patient Champions Coffee Mornings On Tuesday 23rd January, the Patient Champions, representing the ve local GP surgeries in the Waterside and led by Natalie McKenzie, enjoyed a lunch at e Heath. e group has only recently been formed, so it was a good way for people to get to know one another. e Patient Champions are a group of volunteers, representing each of the Doctors’ Practices in the Waterside Primary Care Network (WPCN). Using their local knowledge and with the support of the doctors across the WPCN, the Patient Champions have been asked to provide a range of socially based activities to help promote the health and wellbeing of patients. Groups include IT for Health, dog walking, Book Club and co ee mornings. On ursday 25th January the Patient Champions held their second co ee morning at St. John’s Church Hall in Hythe. ey had volunteers representing their IT for Health group, dog walking group and Book Club. People could go along for a chat and enjoy a homemade chocolate cake, a cheese scone or a homemade cookie, as well as tea/co ee and biscuits. e co ee morning was a huge success and people commented on how well they had been looked a er.
