If you are interested, please go along to one of their meetings. You will be made most welcome. On ursday 12th June Hythe Flower Club held one of their ‘Watch and Do’ evenings, which are always popular. is time they arranged a vertical design in a wooden trough, led by club member Mala Williams (who has won gold at Chelsea) they all learnt lots of hints and tips along the way, and enjoyed a fun evening. e next meeting is 14th August for a demonstration by Graham King entitled ‘Beauty in Sculpture’ followed on 11th September for a ‘Watch and Do’ evening. Hythe Flower Club meet at Hythe and Dibden Parish Hall on the second Thursday of the month (except January) 6.45pm for 7.30pm. ey always warmly welcome visitors to their friendly inclusive club, they ra e all designs at the end of the evening so you could be lucky enough to take a beautiful arrangement home. VILLAGE ARTISTS EXHIBITION e Village Artists will be holding a selling exhibition of a wide variety of original paintings and cards at Lyndhurst Community Centre, Central Car Park (SO43 7NY) from Saturday 16th August - Thursday 21st August. e exhibition will be open daily from 10am-5pm, closing at 4pm on ursday 21st August. Admission is free with donations to the Honeypot Children’s Charity. Access is suitable for disabled visitors. Afternoon of Fun for Cats Protection Join in an a ernoon of fun on Saturday 16th August, 2pm, at Totton Community Centre, raising money for Cats Protection. e a ernoon will include a ernoon tea, 6 games of bingo, a ra e and lots of fun! Tickets are £20 and available from the Cats Protection Shop in Totton Precinct. Totton and District Probus Club e Totton and District branch of Probus meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month with the exception of August and December. e Totton and District branch of Probus is one of the few Probus Clubs in the country to welcome both ladies and gentlemen as members. ey meet at the Colbury Church Rooms in Deerleap Lane, Ashurst. Probus Clubs are for retired people to join and enjoy monthly meetings and meet with like minded people. ey have a friendly atmosphere, and involve members with the activities. Monthly meetings start with a social get together, tea / co ee is served. is is followed by a three course lunch and an informative talk. Additional activities between meetings, have been introduced, where members visit local Garden Centres or places of interest for morning co ee, and stay for lunch if they choose.
