Est., Hythe 023 8084 0163 Hinterland Charity Gig Raises Over £800 for Wessex Cancer Support by Debby Ramshaw, Hinterland Back in July, our band Hinterland had the honour of performing a special charity gig at Hanger Farm Arts Centre, with one clear goal in mind: to raise funds and awareness for Wessex Cancer Support. anks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended, we’re thrilled to share that we raised £808.24 for the charity. e idea for the gig came about earlier this year during one of our rehearsals, when we discussed wanting to do something that went beyond the usual live shows - something that gave back to the community. Wessex Cancer Support was an easy choice; their work supporting individuals and families a ected by cancer across the South is something close to many of our hearts. Hanger Farm Arts Centre kindly o ered us the venue, and the support we received from their team made the night run smoothly from start to nish. e atmosphere on the night was electric - equal parts moving and upli ing. We played a mix of original material and crowd favourites, and it was amazing to see so many familiar and new faces come out in support, not just of the band, but of a cause that means so much to so many. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, made a donation, or helped spread the word. Your support directly helps Wessex Cancer Support continue their vital work, from counselling and wellbeing therapies to drop-in centres and transport services for those undergoing treatment. We also want to thank the team at Hanger Farm, the volunteers who helped out on the night, and the Members of Hinterland presenting a cheque for £808.24 to staff at Wessex Cancer Support, raised from their charity gig at Hanger Farm Arts Centre in July. As a band, we believe music has the power to bring people together and make a di erence - and this event proved exactly that.
