As soon as the Hall doors were open, there was a rush of ladies, lling the show tables with the most beautiful spring arrangements – 20 in all! We combined our AGM with Show Night, to add interest, with as many people who are willing to share their designs and interpretations of the title: this year ‘Spring has Sprung’. A er the AGM, refreshments were served, and Members placed money against the arrangements – especially their favourite. Along with the sum of money and the judges - the chair and treasurer – we had a winner and a runner-up. ey were presented with a trophy each and keep this in pride of place for the next year. Well done to the exceptional designs by Jenny Mumford, and Chris Deamer! Jennie‘s design was a woodland, spring, design; gorgeous, spring owers, catkins, mimosa etc displayed around a lichen covered log. Chris did an Easter design. She placed pebbles in a glass vase lled with water, into which a twig was placed and (washed) eggshells were hung from the branches by twine. e eggshells were lled with tiny spring owers – narcissi, snowdrops, pussywillow, etc. e judges had a truly awful task as all the arrangements were beautiful! All monies raised (£100) will go to Romsey Young Carers –truly well-deserved cause! Our AGM invited ideas for the programme between 2024-2025; explained why our membership fee has had to rise to £40 per year (£3.60 per meeting), guest admission remains at £6 and is refunded if the guest decides to join as a member; we have an outing to Compton Acres (Poole) on the 4th May, due to local elections using the Hall - visitors are welcome - £25 for the day; we have 10 committee members, but would love to welcome more! Finally, with the ra e and a massive thank you to everyone who participated in the whole evening.
